Okay, folks. It's been far too quiet here on the INPCRP list for far too
long. As I told you when Scott told us he was going to have to give up the
State Coordinator position of the INPCRP, I've been absolutely consumed with
another project. I'm happy to report it's done now and my life is starting
to get back to normal. As soon as I wade through a backlog of about two
months' worth of unanswered e-mail, I'll be able to concentrate on pioneer
cemeteries again.
While I'm clearing the decks on this end, I'd like each one of you to take
five or ten minutes to write a simple paragraph of language you would
propose for a petition that we can circulate to every warm body we know to
collect signatures to convince our state legislators that they have sold our
pioneer cemeteries down the river with their failure to protect these sites.
Send your paragraph to the group at INPCRP-L(a)rootsweb.com so we can debate
the points that are essential to the petition. We've been talking about
this off and on for months. The time is NOW to get it started. The
Legislature will be meeting again in just a matter of weeks and a lot of
excellent opportunities to collect signatures have already been lost. Let's
act NOW, not later.
Lois
