I posted a copy of a message about the travesty at Rhodes Cemetery in Wayne
Twp. to the CEMETERY group on Rootsweb. Got the following reply this
morning. I hope neither David Zimmerman or Robert Rhude object, but I
thought it prudent to copy the message here. Appears Robert Rhude may be a
descendant of or at least related to some of the people in this cemetery.

Maggie,
How sad. No doubt this is my family. Within the last year I learned that
the Indianapolis airport was built on Rude family
farmland sold to the authority some decades back. Supposedly there is
a plaque at the airport recognizing the fact that the
airport was built on Rude land. I haven't had a chance to check it out
nor have I had a chance to look into cemeteries in
the area. Guess I'll never have the opportunity now.
By the way the Rudes were in Knox County in the early 1800s and I
visited there late this spring. I wasn't able to find
much that I didn't already have. My gg-grandfather was Barzilla Rude
and thought I might be able to make a connection to
the Barzilla in Knox County. It's not the same Barzilla but with a name
like that they have to be related. The Knox County
Rudes seem to have just disappeared.
