How was I to know? You did not state the concrete was dry when you "placed
on the concrete slab face up..."
But all were placed on the concrete slab face up next to each other.

Subject: Re: [INPCRP] Dumped Tombstones
I did not, if you will reread my E-Mail say anywhere to place
Tombstones
IN
CONCRETE . I have been in the construction business and RESTORATION
to
long
to DO THIS. I said the stones were laid ON THE CONCRETE SLAB. and
that if
1
was missing it might be found there. NEVER,NEVER pour concrete
around a
stone, or set one In CONCRETE unless there is absolutely no other way to
preserve it (and this I dont believe). If the bottom is broken you can
still
pour a new base and set the stone in it. If part is missing on an
angle ,
allow for this by (1) making the depression in the Base on an angle Or,
(2)
if you have the knowledge and the Equipment, and you do not disturb
the
Lettering you may saw the stone off straight and reset it in a new or
existing Base. Some preservationists do set the bottom of the broken
stone
in a hole with concrete, but this has been proven wrong. If you do
not
know
how to do number (1) or (2) then do not attempt either. If you wish
to
lay
the Stones on a Concrete Slab, wait until it cures and lay them ON
TOP
LOOSELY.
Sorry if there was a misunderstanding, Sincerely, Jack E. Briles
