Jack,
Contact your county attorney and see if they are familiar with the new law.
Also it helps to let your county commissioners know of the new law, if they
are unaware of it, give them a copy of the new law. Here in Henry county
they are both aware of the new law. Last time I mentioned it to them they
told me they were studying it and will bring it up at a commissioner's
meeting. I also notified the county recorder and auditor. Now they know what
to expect as far as recording all of the cemeteries in the county. It want
have any effect on better care for the pioneer cemeteries, but they will be
recorded for posterity.

Subject: [INPCRP] Recording Cemeterys,
Lois, when is the recording of cemeteries supposed to begin, by who
ever
is
supposed to do the recording, for, or with the DNR. The County
officials
I
have talked to know nothing at all about the new law. Whose job is it
to
inform them. They apparently don't make an effort to read all of the
hundreds
of laws passed every year, or so they say. I don't know of any
cemeteries
that have been recorded as prescribed by law. Who should take the
initiative
and get the ball rolling, if its not yet.
