Keep in mind that the law says the DNR "may" conduct a program and
"may"
conduct it alone or with help. Whenever you see the word "may" instead of
"shall" in a law, it means just that...they can, but the don't have to do
it...
In other words, don't hold your breath. I think the recording of these
cemeteries is a noble cause, but I'm just worried about getting the DNR too
involved in these cemeteries. After all, look at their track record on
previous pioneer cemetery issues....
And while I'm on my soap box....it's still not too late to contact your local
candidates for state representative and state senator and find out what their
thoughts are on this topic...and then vote accordingly next
Tuesday....regardless of whether you talk to them or not...please be sure to
vote.
