What about IOOF monument?
--------------------------------------------------------
I have recently read in the paper about all of the interest in the
new World War II memorial in Washington, D.C.
The City of Marion has another new war monument as well as another
statue to honor Dr. Martin Luther King.
I agree with these tributes to worthy individuals. I do, however,
want to remind the people in Grant County that a couple of years ago, when the memorial at
the old IOOF Cemetery, which was placed to honor the soldiers who fought in the Civil War,
was broken and sold off, there was nothing done about the desecration.
Am I to believe that the sacrifices of an earlier generation are
less meaningful than those of recent patriots?
I would still like an answer from the prosecutor as to why this
robbery was not worthy of pursuit.
