Jack,
what town is St. Peteers Cem in? How far from Terre Haute? I'd like to
come and give you a hand there if I could. I have no knowledge in repairing
but if you need any labor help, I can do that.

Sue, I have chedked the newspapers in Harrison Co. In, back as far as
1860,
that is about as far as they go on deah information. even then they
only
list
the fact they died. Not where they are buried. i am extracting the
names
from
Taylor Twp. only in hopes of being able to look for the deaths from
there.
This area of Ind. is very remote(in the Country) and there are not, nor
has
there ever been many catholics. I am trying to extract the names only
of
people that are known to be catholic to narrow my search. I am progressing
very slowly. I have the 1860 and 1870 census of Taylor Twp. and am
checking
every name aganist the church records. If they were a member of the
parish
after 1850 but before 1885, I might know the names of who I am looking
for,
and mabey contact some decendants of theirs. Thanks for the advice,
I
accept
any help I can Get,
Jack Briles

THIS IS A CEMETERY -----
"Lives are commemorated - deaths are recorded - families
are reunited - memories are made tangible - and love is
undisguised. This is a cemetery.
"Communities accord respect, families bestow reverence,
historians seek information and our heritage is thereby enriched.
"Testimonies of devotion, pride and remembrance are carved
in stone to pay warm tribute to accomplishments and to the life -
not the death - of a loved one. The cemetery is homeland for family
memorials that are a sustaining source of comfort to the living.
"A cemetery is a history of people - a perpetual record of
yesterday and sanctuary of peace and quiet today. A cemetery
exists because every life is worth loving and remembering - always."
