I'm sorry. I put that post about the farmers. It was ment as a joke. Three
direct lines of my family were farmers in Allen county from 1826 on and
three other direct lines in Wells county from 1840 on. I've looked at and
downloaded EVERY census page from Allen and Wells counties from 1830 - 1920
and 90% of them were farmers.

Just curious. I think you and/or someone else has indicated that it's
strange to find farmers in Indiana in 1851(I believe that's the year
mentioned). Why do you find that strange? My ancestors were farmers in
Indiana much earlier than that.
