Much work went into locating cemeteries and historical sites that
were within the two mile corridors, and the final path of I-69 was
planned to miss as many of these as possible. I think that the
article on the cemetery being moved at Indy explained that, and that
it was virtually impossible to "plan around" that cemetery. If all
of the cemetery locations within the two mile corridor in Pike County
were reported, they should not be effected by the highway
construction. The only concern in Gibson County was a cemetery that
we never did locate that we think was located within the
corridor. It was dozed out by a farmer years ago and we could not
determine the exact location.
