Ernie:
Now that you know where it came from and who sold it, I hope you are
considering turning it over to the Conservation Officer for further
investigation as to who consigned it. It is my belief that this in direct
violation of IC 14-21-2-4 and should be pursued as an example, so that
people will understand that this cannot continue to go on. Surely the
auction company understands the law or should, if not the individual.
Congratulations on a job well done!

Hello All,
I am not sure where this one is from, so I thought I would post to the
list, maybe someone will recognize the name or find it in cemetery records.
Today I purchased a marble grave marker at an auction sale, to keep it from
disappearing forever or ending up in an antique shop. Hopefully we can
find the cemetery it came from. The auction sale was 3 miles North of
Vincennes on Old 41, or about 500 yards South on Old 41 from U.S. 41
North. This was the George Mullens sale, but some items were consigned,
and another person told me some items came from Loogootee and Martin
county. So this stone could be from anywhere:
NICHOLAS MARTS
son of
F. & M. MARTS
born Nov. 26, 1863
died June 29, 1864
If you have any idea where this may be from, let me know. I'll bring it to
you.
