The Monument Maker I work with Has a Mixture of the color of the actual
granite Flecks he uses to fill in the 19's that were inscribed in a lot of
Granite stones. He fills it in and then when he picks the day to take his
compressor out and cut dates in stones that were never cut yet, he will cut
the 19's into 20's. He may set aside a day every 3 or 4 months to do things
like depending on how many he has. That is the only way I have ever seen. He
also does this if he makes a mistake. He roughs the date so the
Epoxie-Granite mix will stick. A very CLOSE inspection and you may see it if
you know it is there.
But unless you want to change the stone, that probably will have to be
your solution. He takes the Adhesive backed Rubber 20 cut outs along and
attaches them to the stone. Then carefully using Glass Beads and a very fine
nozzle under moderate pressure, he blasts out the numbers. You will have to
check with the Monument Makers in your area and find out what their solution
is. If it is BETTER than this, Please let me know.
A lot of people are having this problem, never dreaming they would live so
long
Good Luck,
