The Division of Historic Preservation & Archaeology is going to put together
the 2nd annual online calendar of events for Historic Preservation Week
(officially May 3-8 but we're including events from May 1-9). The theme
this year is "New Frontiers in Preservation". I'm sending out this email
earlier than I did last year with the hopes that if you don't already have
an event planned, you'll have the time to put something together and help
promote historic preservation. Let us know about your event. It doesn't
have to be a traditional preservation event (lectures, home tours, awards)
so if you have a function that you consider borderline, go ahead and submit
it. We'll do our best to include everything.
If you have something to submit, please send me the basic information about
it (name of event, a brief description, when it is, where it will take
place, cost and contact information) no later than Friday, April 23, 2004.
Some information may have to be edited. In an effort to make the calendar a
bit more visually enticing, we are also looking for photographs. If you
have held this event before and have photographs of it, we would be
interested in getting a copy. Send digital images to
awalker(a)dnr.state.in.us <mailto:awalker@dnr.state.in.us> or copies of
photos to Amy Walker, DHPA, 402 W. Washington St., Rm. W274, Indianapolis,
IN 46204-2739. Please include the subject of the photo and who we should
give credit to.

The National Trust provides some background information about Historic
Preservation Week, ideas for events, and ways to promote your events. Read
through it and start planning!
Feel free to pass this along to anyone who might be interested in
participating.
Thanks for your efforts in promoting preservation.
