Jeannie Regan-Dinius, Division of Historic Preservation and
Archaeology, Indiana Department of
Natural Resources, will be the guest speaker for the monthly meeting
of the Morgan County
History and Genealogy Association, Thursday, June 28.
Ms. Regan-Dinius will speak concerning the Indiana cemetery registry
and database presently
being prepared by the Division of Historic Preservation and
Archaeology. The registry,
authorized by Indiana Code 14-21-1-13.5, will contain all cemeteries
and burial grounds located
in all 92 counties of the State of Indiana. The registry and database
will provide a wealth of
information concerning each cemetery and burial ground within the
State of Indiana.
Ms. Regan-Dinius was previously employed by the Division of Historic
Preservation and
Archaeology as a special projects coordinator. She developed public
outreach programs and
assisted volunteers throughout the state with the Indiana Freedom
Trails, Underground Railroad.
Prior to her employment with the Division of Historic Preservation and
Archaeology, she was the
Executive Director of Historic Forks of the Wabash in Huntington,
Indiana.
The meeting will be held at the Morgan County Public Library, 110
South Jefferson Street, Martinsville, at 7:00 P. M. The
public is invited to attend.
