It is really hard to plainly discern the last name.? I think that the "M" is an
"N"; third letter in last name.? ?I?don't think that the?4th &
5th?letters?are an "F";?to me looks like an "E" and "T".
??Would it be possible for someone to sprinkle cornstarch on the original & brush the
excess off?? All that would then be visible?would be the?letters.? I've used this
on?markers before; when I'm finished I brush everything off.

Thanks for all the work. It is rather aggravating when there is so little.
Do you know how old Abram and Elvira were in 1870? Would Elvira still be in
child bearing age? I could send you a picture of the marker and see what you
thought. If you want to see the pictue just let me know. It is possible
that the engraver could have thought it the name was spelled Demoff or plain
made a mistake.
