Donna,
Pretty good article, I would say. INPCRP members need to begin gearing up
to lobby for the study committee mentioned in this article. You will all
need to send a copy of this article to your own representatives and ask them
to join this effort to try to halt the decay of your historic cemeteries.
We almost did this back in 2000, but Gov. Gray Davis vetoed it. That was
just before he took California's economy into the toilet! For a governor
who rarely does ANYTHING, when he does it, he just screws it up!
Go for it, you guys. Get a study group. Your combined experience and
knowledge will blow the lid off the results!

We did manage to get front page coverage on the meeting, it's not
completely
accurate but does get some our point across

Quote from William Gladstone (1809-1897), three-time Prime Minister of
England
and Victorian contemporary of Benjamin Disraeli:
"Show me the manner in which a nation or community
cares for its dead and I will measure with mathematical
exactness the tender mercies of its people, their
respect for the laws of the land, and their loyalty
to high ideals."
