When I was on the board of our county historical society in Ohio, we
contracted with a person who had several of these "cadaver dogs". We had a
paupers' cemetery on the grounds of the old county home (the buildings there
held our museum). The grave markers had been moved and fences and roads
relocated; it became a problem being sure where all the burials were
actually located. The dogs were able to locate several graves that could
not be pin-pointed except by excavation and allowed us to relocate fences
outside of the burial areas and reinstall markers which had been stored
off-site. It was fascinating watching the dogs in action.
