On October 21 I had the privilege of working with a 5th grade class in Gas
City at the Walnut Creek Cemetery, doing a community service project. Some
photos along with transcriptions of the thank you notes I received from the
kids (all shaped like a tombstone, decorated with inscriptions) are
included. These 26 kids worked hard, stayed on task for the 3 hours we were
there, and from what they wrote, really understood why a cemetery is
important. You can check out this project at

neercemeteriesresto.htm scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Walnut
Creek Cemetery. You can also check out the project I did last spring with
4th graders from Southern Wells at the Batson Cemetery. So far, just over
100 kids have participated.
