I started the Vermillion County, Indiana Cemetery Restoration Committe
which I have been chairman of since 2002 by contacting my local Historical
Society. Try that it might help as for funding get grants that what we have
done and we requested money from our local innkeepers tax fund and asked for
donations. We started off with 0 in funds and now have a little less than
$300.00 took us a year to get that. But 4300.00 can go a long way if you
spend it right. Try that it might help you. Good luck.

Subject: [INPCRP] Cemetery Preservation Society
Hello,
My name is Jim Mulligan and am a new subscriber to
this list. I live in Champaign, Illinois and wonder
if anyone can give me insight on the do's and dont's
of setting up a cemetery preservation and restoration
society. We have numerous cemeteries in Champaign
County that are despoiled and need TLC. I am trying
to raise awareness in the community about cemeteries
that are being destroyed and not cared for.
I know that this is a very general question but I need
to start somewhere. I have already contacted my state
historical and preservation societies, will little or
no help. The funds are just not available.
Best Regards,
Jim Mulligan
Champaign, Illinois
