The Delaware County (Muncie) group has done a lot more than talking
this
year. About 330 work hours this year have been donated to make the
Macedonia
Cemetery in Monroe township restoration complete. Sept 15 will be the
dedication. The dedication will start at 1:30 pm. Very one is welcome,
including The Cowan HS band will be there. The fire chief and SUCWV ladies
aux. will lay a wreath at the Civil War veterans graves. If there is rain
we
plan to have the dedication inside the Cowan Fire Dept. Everyone is
welcome.
We unearthed several pre-Civil War markers as well as a several in the
1860's. Descendants of the pioneers have participated in the restoration
process. Yes, they, the descendants feel closer to thier roots and to each
other now. It took a village to care, some talk, and a lot of hard work
and
dedication. If that runs in short supply where you're from, you can change
it. I do believe in the power of one, as well. Talk can be cheap or
inspiring, decide for yourself. Judge a tree by what fruit it bears.

Kyle: Know about the "No Money" bit. We were lucky our second year we
got
a grant instead of paying for repairs ourselves as we did the first year.
We have been around 7 years now and most of the expenses are paid for by
the
township trustees now. We don't charge for labor. I guess we feel we owe
the pioneers the restoration for posterity.
Thanks, anyway.
There have been times when someone has asked me if anyone does repair in a
certain county. Just thought that would be a good list to have. When I
have a question, I just get on line and ask if anyone has any information
on
a certain county.
