I have the article and will forward it if you will send me off list your
mailing address. In a nutshell, its a lot of bellyaching about how much
trouble for so little pay that it takes to care for the cemetery.
My answer to this is, get with the 21st century and raise your prices for
new burial. My family happens to own 3 lots that are vacant, in addition to
a dozen occupied ones. How much trouble is it to make one swath with a
mower.
I thought that a perpetual care fund was supposed to generate interest that
was to be used for maintenance. If so, then how could they be broke unless
they have touched the original principal. Also, I thought the law says if an
association or whatever is having troubles, then they can take their books
to the trustee and he is supposed to help with the expenses.
Why don't they quit thier bellyaching and just take care of the cemetery.
She claims to be the treasurer of the cemetery association. Wonder what she
gets paid or if that's not the reason why she is so outspoken.
