What a better way to teach them about cemeteries than
to get them started when they are young!

Talking Cemeteries. I don't know how we can talk on everything else and not
on our original goal CEMETERIES. It's OK to discuss The News letter and the
501c but lets not lose site of what we have all worked our tails off on. Down
here in the Southern part of the state We don't have someone on all sides of us
to pitch in on a project. I am backed up by the Ohio River. but unlike a
county like Vanderburg and the city of Evansville, these 3 counties only have as of
now My self, and Lois, who is completely worn out by cemetery talk and a
Cemetery Board that is Operational, but unfunded. Try and do something with a
situation like that.
I know you are all tired of hearing about the Allen-Jenkins cemetery.
Well, I'm tired of talking about it, but if I quit the Jer(ks), excuse me,
Developers will win another one going away.
Betty Johnson has called me twice about trying to stop the movement, she has
a baby buried there, she is now 76 years old, but we have a Judge who doesn't
have anyone buried there so he sees nothing wrong with moving it. His family
were some of the early settlers in Clark Co. Fortunately, so far they are
buried in cemeteries that the Developers don't yet need. Maybe someday---------
We don't (I don't) get any help, or even any press. The papers don't believe
people would read the paper,s if they talked about cemeteries. If anyone has
any suggestions please, please let me know. The Trustees in Floyd Co. (2 of
them) are trying to do their best, Harrison co. is lucky, they get gambling money
and are beginning to try. No such luck in Clark Co. The Trustee in Carr Twp
where the Allen-Jenkins is located is (According To Neighbors) trying to help
locate FREE burial SITES. What next??? In the 3 counties we have 900-1,000
cemeteries. And about that many Developers!
Ok, I have relieved some pressure, I feel Better. I will try not to mention
the Allen-Jenkins again unless something spectacular happens, like the OHIO
runs backward.!!
