Hands-On Cemetery Restoration Workshop in Bloomington
The Monroe County Historical Society will lead a hands-on restoration of White
Oak Cemetery in Bloomington on Saturday, October 10 from 9 am to 3:30 pm.
Restoration specialist John Walters will show how to clean, repair and reset
stones. Registration for the workshop is $25 for MCHS members, $30 for
non-members, and includes a morning snack and lunch. Registration is limited to
25 people, and the deadline to register is September 10th.
There will be a free session about cemetery restoration techniques and laws
offered on Friday, October 9 from 6 to 7:30 pm at the Monroe County History
Center (202 E.6th St., Bloomington IN). Jeannie Regan-Dinius from the Indiana
Department of Natural Resources' Division of Historic Preservation and
Archaeology will be the presenter.
