Okay.
In Parke County trustees of the Mt Olivet Cemetery used "dousing" to locate
unmarked graves. We found the method to be very reliable. We found the original section
was entirely full, including around the edges and on a hillside. All the rows were full,
regardless of whether there were markers. What had been called the "Potters
Field" had more than 30 graves in it in rows of varying length. This method can tell
us, in plots that were sold by the association in the early 1900's, how many people
were buried in an unmarked plot.
In Morgan County a descendant of many of those interred at Williams Cemetery at the
intersection of 37 and Henderson Ford Rd, north of Martinsville, has returned to the area.
She and her husband have the muscle and ability to begin regular maintenance, fencing,
and restoration of the cemetery. The husband cleaned and restored cemeteries as a Boy
Scout. His cousins are interested in helping. This is a cemetery under the
responsibility of the township trustee, who mows several times a year. The couple hopes
to find a good restoration workshop, as their skills stop short of tombstone repair.
Williams Cemetery is very close to the proposed 1-69, and it is excellent timing for this
cemetery to take on a new cared-for look.

I know everyone in the state has been dealing with water or winds this year.
Was wondering if anyone went to the last workshop?
Been working on anything really exciting?
Share some news........please.
