I have had experience with yuccas this year. They can take over a cemetery
in a few years. The root system is deep and they spread out quite a ways. We
dug a lot of them up and transplanted them in other places, several in my
own yard, they seem to be growing ok. I would imagine late fall plantings
would survive ok.
To kill them off you need to dig up as many as you can, then use TORDON
RTU, it is a special herbicide made by Dow Chemical. I believe we got it at
our local Farm Bureau Co-op. It is a very potent chemical, so FOLLOW
DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY.

Subject: [INPCRP] yucca plants
I need some info on dealing with yucca plants. In the
cemetery I'm working in, the yucca & it's build up is
surrounding and pushing against some childrens
stones, which are very thin. How deep does it root &
can it be dug out carefully? Can it be transplanted
this time of year? Thanks Theresa Berghoff
