I'm always amazed at how much institutional memory seems to have been lost
by public agencies over the past 50 years. Where are their records?
Certainly if the stones had been used as some sort of rip rap for the bridge
foundation support areas, the highway department should have a report of
that in their as-built records from the original project construction. This
idea that nobody knows where they came from, in my opinion, is pure bunk put
out by bureaucrats. They know, they're just not saying.
