Is the Old Cath cem the same as St Xavier Cemetery?
Of course will go by the City Cemetery..and more..

Too bad you will be coming on a holiday and the library will be
closed.
There you could find the cemeteries that have such soldiers within. I
live close to one that has several-----the Upper Indiana Presbysterian
Church on Old Bruceville Rd. A person to contact that has transcribed
all the old stones in the cemetery is Sharon Edmonson. She lives in a
trailer just before you get to the cemetery and church. There are 3
houses between her trailer and the church/cemetery. She might be at her
father's house which is the middle house of the three.
There are 11 Rev. War soldiers in the cemetery. I have a list of them
that came from the newspaper. In fact, the cemetery holds veterans of 7
American Wars.
Now if you can't reach Sharon at her home or by phone 812-882-4309, call
me at 812-726-5391 and I can give you the names of the 11. She has
worked so hard at deciphering all the old stones, I hope you can get in
touch with her.
Old Bruceville Rd. is found thus: As one comes in to Vincennes from the
north, you find Executive INn and Quality Inn and Garfields Restaurant.
Follow the road in front of Quality Inn and Garfields, passing Hillcrest
Nursing Home, Military Museum, then Sharon's and then the
church/cemetery/

THIS IS A CEMETERY -----
"Lives are commemorated - deaths are recorded - families
are reunited - memories are made tangible - and love is
undisguised. This is a cemetery.
"Communities accord respect, families bestow reverence,
historians seek information and our heritage is thereby enriched.
"Testimonies of devotion, pride and remembrance are carved
in stone to pay warm tribute to accomplishments and to the life -
not the death - of a loved one. The cemetery is homeland for family
memorials that are a sustaining source of comfort to the living.
"A cemetery is a history of people - a perpetual record of
yesterday and sanctuary of peace and quiet today. A cemetery
exists because every life is worth loving and remembering - always."
