very good point Dan. I think this is probably from an old cemetery in the
area. I know in Morgan County we have plenty of them that we can't locate
becuase the farmer "dumped" the stones down a ravine, or in a well or some
other inaccessable spot. But of course, that was always the "neighbor" that
did it, not the land owner.

I would challenge the Indiana Department of Transportation to publish

the local papers and make sure it appears on the Internet, including the
INPCRP site, a full transcription of ALL of the gravestones that were found
"30 to 40," to see if they were some "leftover stones that were used as
fill
because of mistakes made by the monument company" or what we all suspect.
Obviously, if they were mistakes, the monument company is LONG SINCE
HISTORY - no company could prosper with that kind of error rate.
