Well put, Jack. I think you've made a good decision.
Bless you,
Sue

Subject: Re: [INPCRP] Opinion Subject (Burials) My "Decision"
The following contains a lot of "If's" But I have made my decision.
I suppose I will go with the General consensus and Record The
addresses of 2 of the Babies. Today I found out the third was on a street
that was absorbed into the big city cemetery about 4 years later, so that
takes care of one. The other 2 I'll file away for someone else to worry
about. I agree with Sue, they are gone by now. We have about 2 feet of
black
soil covering the sandy ground along the Ohio River so no one would
notice
anyhow. I agree with Kyle. these are lots 120 X 40 so it would only create
a
hardship on the Present owners. They live in Low income neighbor
hoods and
in
a 100 years the remains would be unrecognizable anyhow and they are
probably
gone. There were no Boxes, probably only a blanket to hurry before
the
mother
was upset anymore.. We are talking about someone about the size of a
small
Puppy, but still a Human Form, even if no life. I also agree with
Jeannie,
but the yard would have to be dug up to prove they are still there and
were
not moved later in the century when the parents had more money. There
are
even cases now where the Still Born are Disposed of by the Hospital in a
respectable manner. Some parents don't even want to see them. My grand
daughter did, she even named her little girl, and they had a brief
service.
And yes I held her and I cried. As for the Remains in the yard, in a
100
years several pets could be buried in the yard. That's what people do
here.
Catch 22. As I said I'll record, and then let the sleeping dog
lie. I am
one
of the strongest supporters of Burial and cemetery Laws in the State.
But
I
have decided this is not at the top of my list as of now. I am more
concerned
with the wanton abandonment of Tombstones any where Monument makers
and
their
Employee's wish to put them. I think this needs a Little more
consideration.
Maybe a little Law ???
I wish to thank everyone who responded, It gave me more insight then
I
was able to decide on my own. I hope I'm right, If not
Jeannie, let me
know.
