FYI,
Delaware folks are forging ahead with workdays in Carmichael Cemetery
It was a horrendously ignored cemetery located in the city limits of Muncie
IN. We were able to uncover a few undiscovered cemetery markers, including
one 81 year old patriarch that died in 1850. We cleaned it up today and it
looks beautiful. We need to do some research some "mystery" Civil War
veterans as well as an unnamed WWI veteran who died in 1919. It was at this
cemetery that I dicovered human bones exposed and spread over the ground
back in 1997.
God has been good to us and we just received a small grant for supplies
and equipment. We will be obtaining a tripod with some of the money if all
goes well. I'm very excited and wanted very one to be glad and happy to know
there is true progress being made by some "little" hoosiers in Delaware
County that don't know the meaning of "it can't be done." We don't
give up
and don't know the meaning of a forsaken cause.
Hopefully everyone is busy doing what they can, where they can it there
own commuinities in regard to cemetery preservation. It can be very
rewarding. Let the flag fly in order to honor those veterans whom we owe are
freedom. I look forward in here other peoples success stories as well.
