THIS VIRUS-LADEN MESSAGE DID ***NOT*** GO THROUGH THE LIST. Note that it
was sent:
From: "Linda Gudgel Finnell" <lfinnell(a)lex.infi.net>
To: <clugh_la(a)email.msn.com>
although the subject line seemed to indicate it
was a response to an INPCRP
message.
I wrote to Linda this morning alerting her to the fact that her system is
infected with the Sircam virus.
That particular virus picks personal files off your hard drive and e-mails
them to people's addresses found in your address book, among other forms of
nastiness. BUT, I assure you it did not reach you through Rootsweb. That's
one of the big reasons Rootsweb does not allow "attachments".
See
http://www.sarc.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.sircam.worm@mm.html
for detailed information on W32.Sircam.Worm@mm and how to protect yourself.
