Tim,
I'm sorry to be so late noticing your message. It's tough during Fall Foliage
Festival time in Morgan County. The stone was actually found in a small community
adjoining Brooklyn. It was found in on private property in Bethany Park, where the same
family has owned for perhaps 40 years. All were unaware of the stone's presence
beneath the sod.
The Plainfield Library has a wonderful website with burials, and I found Rebecca Hadley
with her husband, children, and his second and third wives at Maple Hill in Plainfield.
The question remains as to why her stone was found in a yard in Morgan County.
I will be in Plainfield tomorrow and hope to see the Hadley plot. Maybe it won't be a
huge cemetery.
There may have been a big replacement stone for Harlan Hadley and his 3 wives, with the
subsequent removal of Rebecca's stone. If so, the land owners would like the
tombstone to go to a descendant of Rebecca Hadley. So that's another search I will
start, perhaps on the Hendricks Co, Owsley, or Hadley lists.

You might check out the Brooklyn cemetery on Church St. I think
there are
Hadley's there. I know that it is a name found in a lot of
cemeteries in
Morgan, Hendricks, Marion, and parts of Johnson Co.
What part of Brooklyn was the stone found?
I think there was a cemetery in the yard of one of the churches
in town in
the 1800s. I just can't prove it yet.
