That is a different Stout Cemetery. The directions I was given my the new
land owners also differ from these directions.
STOUT S10 T11N R1W
39°2436N 86°3026W
From SR67, go north on Buffalo Rd./CR450W about 500 feet to a farm on
the
right. Obtain permission to take the farm lane 0.2 mile east to a path on
the right leading to the cemetery, which is overlooking SR67.

Gregg Township Cemeteries
Summary Report
Cemetery Visits Aug 1999 - April 2001
Stout Cemetery
Section 23 T13N R1W
Small family cemetery (8 rods by 5 rods) beside Briarhopper Road. May be
maintained by neighbor, 17 Briarhopper Road. Well cared for; trees were
recently removed. Has a nice fence; needs a sign. Could use probing.
Listed as cemetery in auditor records. Deed Book 30 Page 356, 12 April
1871, conveys this as a private burial ground with the Stout family as
trustees.
Indiana Cemetery Survey Forms Morgan County, prepared by Tom Bowen for the
Indiana Genealogical Society's cemetery survey project and available at
Morgan County Public Library, gives detailed directions for finding each
of these cemeteries, as well as other information.

This cemetery is surrounded by private land. I had looked for a route
to it last fall and failed. Through a coincidence, I have been
contacted by the new owners of the land. They said the old owners did
not want people crossing their pastures to reach the cemetery, but they
have no problem with it. They have asked me if I can get them
information for societies that restore old cemeteries. My involvement
with old cemeteries has been recording the headstones for genealogical
sites and not restoration. This site seemed like a place that might
be able to help. Any guidance on whom I can have Ms. Cole contact?
