Subject: [INPCRP] Lingeman Cemetery Restoration Project
Hello everyone!
I will be heading up a huge project this weekend (June 13th and 14th) and am in
over my head! With the help of three volunteer groups and individual community
members (including Larry Tippin--thank you!!) I will be leading the full
restoration of Lingeman Cemetery near Brownsburg in Hendricks County. This
cemetery has been an eyesore for decades due to vandalism and fallen trees.
Only a few of the 100 stones are standing and almost half are broken at least
once. There is a lot of interest in this cemetery from neighbors, the
community and descendants, which is the reason why I finally agreed to take it
on as a project.
I would like to extend an invitation to anyone interested in helping out,
especially some of you experienced restorationists. Since we are attempting to
finish the bulk of the work in two days, we can use all the help we can get!
The project is June 13/14 from approximately 9am to 4pm each day. Come for an
hour, come both days, whatever you can do. No notification is required, just
show up! Detailed directions and map are on my Hendricks County INCPRP page,
but basically the cemetery is just a couple blocks SW of the intersection of
267 and 136. It is on Washington Street (only goes west off of 267) and is
hard to miss. For more information, email me at jlfelix24(a)yahoo.com.
Thanks!
Jess Felix
