Subject: David Kime Tombstone
While hiking in Southwestway Park this morning (4/9/04) I found and
photographed a tombstone which appears to have been dumped at the edge
of White River. Although damaged and broken, it is readable: "DAVID KIME
DIED OCT. 11, 1870 AGED 83 YS. 8 MS. & 3 DYS." An internet search
indicates a David Kime as the first resident of Decatur Township in
1819. Please contact me about the location of the stone, it appears that
someone has vandalized a cemetery and stolen the stone. It must have
some historical value and I'd like to see it returned to the place it
belongs. Can you help? Greg Harker 619 Mt. Rainier Dr. Indianapolis, IN
