Most likely you've already heard about the anticipated demise of @home cable
internet service. For cable internet subscribers (except AT&T cable), I
understand our @home service will remain in effect until some time at the
end of February (check with your local cable internet provider for a precise
date if this affects you).
Nevertheless, I have already started making changes to my e-mail group
subscriptions, Rootsweb webpage owner and other registrations with Rootsweb
to a permanent forwarding address so I won't have to deal with the problem
when the change-over happens.
It occurs to me that this information may be useful to some of you on this
list and I thought I would remind you that any Rootsweb subscriber can go
to:
http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/
to enter your e-mail address(es) and receive a message back from Rootsweb
indicating exactly which groups you are subscribed to, what webpages are
assigned to you, and so forth.
Especially if you are a current @home subscriber to this or any other
Rootsweb list, I recommend that you go to Password Central and get the lists
so, when the time comes, you'll be ready to make the changes to your
subscription and registration addresses.
Having a copy of these lists tucked away on your computer is handy even if
you NEVER plan on changing your e-mail address. It's a very handy reference
setting out all of the lists you are currently subscribed to, with posting
addresses and unsubscribe links.
Thanks.
