To the List, If you have read the new House Bill, (1758) and you think the
landowners are going to accept it, let it be known. If you think they wont
accept it, or participate, let that be known also, remember we should let our
opinions, and the opinions of the Landowners be KNOWN. I recorded 3
cemeteries (Burial Grounds) today, the largest 30 X 30, and I told the
Landowners afterwards about the new Bill, and all three said no thanks. But
for every three that says no maybe 300 would say yes. We of the INPCRP need
to know, these laws affect us all, and we should be able to explain, to the
best of our ability, all of the applicable Cemetery Laws as we know them when
we approach the Landowners. It is a responsibility we accept when we ask them
for permission to go on their land to Rescue a Burial site. In Floyd Co.
Ind. we may have 15 or 20 large Cemeteries, the rest are Family Burial Plots,
scattered through the Fields and woods. We have a known total of
approximately 120, and we are the 3rd. smallest county in the State. Here
they wont sit aside an acre of Ground for a 30 X 30 plot of Ground. We don't
have that much. If you are in favor of the new Bill, say, Aye; if opposed
say No; I never even heard about a hearing, of course that's my fault. I Know
how to find out. The Legislature wont know, if we don't say anything. I
will now be silent on HBO 1758 (No more except to respond)
