Each year (summer) the trustee makes a budget. Write a letter or make an
appointment with the trustee and ask him/her to appropriate more money for the
maintenance of cemeteries. Tell him/her, in a nice way, if they are not
maintaining the cemetery as it should be. Take a copy of the state law and give it
to him/her. Attend the budget hearing and ask the board of directors to
appropriate more money for the cemetery before they approve the budget. They have
the final say, not the trustee. Believe me, if you attend the budget hearing,
you have their attention!! Look for the hearings in the local newspaper
legals. Ask the newspaper when they are usually printed in your area.
