Those books will be a dream for anyone with old family.
How wonderful.

Subject: [INPCRP] A note from Lawrence County
Tomorrow begins the first week-end for cleaning and straightening the
Lawrenceport Cemetery in Bono Twp., Lawrence Co., IN.
In addition to be a cemetery haunter and genealogy addict I am the
co-founder of the Bishop Robert R. Roberts Memorial Assn., Inc. We acquired
the old Lawrenceport Methodist Church, which is now our center of operation
and we are sponsering this 'cemetery gathering'. Hopefully the weather stays
dry for us !!
The Lawrenceport cemetery is an active cemetery - the oldest dated stone is
1837 and folk-lore says the mound of rocks near the NE corner marks an
Indian burial....
There are over 725 identified stones - so our work is cut out for us...
We will be updating the plat map as we work.
Tony and Carolyn Jarvis will be working with us photographing each stone.
The, along with Treva Bean, have been working for several years and hope to
eventually have ALL cemteries photographed and books published. The books ar
awesome !! Not only do they include the photos of the grave markers but also
photocopies of most of the obituaries and/or death notices.
I spend some time sitting cross-eyed at the microfilm machine obataining
obits for them.
A list of the books so far available can be found at:

(scroll to near the bottom of the list for Cemetery Books)
Any suggestions for making things easy would be appreciated !!
