Mary,
At least two cemeteries in Parke County have been partly restored via grants from the
Parke County Community Foundation(PCCF), if you find you need more funds than you
currently have. You might be able to apply your existing money to match a grant. Are you
part of a formally organized cemetery association? The cemetery in Parke Co. for which I
am one of the trustees has raised funds and received PCCF grants to pay for the majority
of our restoration project via grants. It's a large cemetery, and we don't have
the muscle to do the work on our own.
As an example of volunteer efforts, one family group in Parke County has restored a
smaller cemetery of their common ancestors. Another cemetery has formed an organization,
has received PCCF funds, and has formed a volunteer work force from among their members to
continue their efforts.
There may be some monies from a bequest that are designated for cemeteries in Parke County
via the PCCF.

Subject: [INPCRP] Parke Co Cemetery Restoration Planned
Does anyone have recommendations on who to contact to do a cemetery restoration project
for a cemetery in southern Parke County. Are there volunteers available or should we take
bids from qualified people/contractors that can do this? We do have some funds set aside
to have this restoration performed. Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.
Note: I am new to this list and somewhat new to cemetery restoration. I did attend a
restoration class several years ago so I am somewhat familiar with the process and
importance of using only qualified/experienced individuals for stone restoration.
