A friend who lives near this plowed up cemetery gave me some idea where it
is and I will provide a link when I find it on Google Earth. He said that
another friend told him this cemetery had at least 60 burials in it, maybe
as many as 80 but did not know the name of it. It is about an acre in size
and he just cleared the whole area, trees and markers. Why do some owners of
farm land think that one more little acre is going to make that much
difference? It is south of Kirklin on the Boone County boarder, 1/4 mile
east of Michigan Rd. where it turns into 29. It is south of SR 38 and north
of SR 47 but I can not put my finger on it yet.

THIS is why identifying and indexing cemeteries is so critically important!
**IF** they come up with enough fragments of stones to put back together
again, without a comprehensive index, they'll never have a clue who is
buried where.
What a travesty this was. I hope DNR nails this fellow to the wall! Twenty
years ago, what he did would have been perfectly legal because he was
involved in "any form of agriculture".
