Stan you once sent me a link to a site that has repaired those hollow
markers. If a top is broken off I would think 2-3 cans of foam sealant
might work in keeping the rest of the marker from falling apart but the
concrete to me would make it stronger if someone tried to vandalize it.
My two cents which is worthless.

MARK:
JUST A THOUGHT - I WONDER IF ACID CORE SOLDER MIGHT WORK ON THOSE LEAD
ZINC OR WHITE ZINC MARKERS. THE SOLDER IS SOFT AND CAN BE FILED OR SMOOTHED
EASILY.
IT IS STILL STRONG ENOUGH TO HOLD BUT SOFT ENOUGH TO BREAK AGAIN IF THE
MARKER WAS BUMPED. I AM NOT SURE IF A METAL ALLOY LIKE THAT COULD BE
SOLDERED. I
KNOW WHERE THERE IS A LEAD ZINC MARKER WITH THE VERY TOP BROKEN OFF; BUT THE
REST OF THE MONUMENT IS FINE. THE TOP PIECE HAS BEEN DAMAGED TO THE POINT
OF
NOT BEING USABLE. IT MIGHT BE INTERESTING TO EXPERIMENT ON SOMETHING LIKE
THIS RATHER THAN A NICE MONUMENT IN CASE IT FAILS.
FILLING IT WITH CONCRETE IS PROBABLY THE BEST OPTION I HAVE HEARD OF
YET AS THEY ARE HOLLOW INSIDE.

I had an outgoing township trustee board member who will continue to
maintain cemetery's in his township ask me about repairing a hollow
lead/zinc marker. He states there is no infomrmation available on repairing
them and weldes can't do it. He thought about tipping it upside down and
filling it up with cement. Then let the cement dry and turn the marker right
side up. Any solutions please let me know.
