Taking care of a loved one's gravestone or even an entire cemetery goes far beyond
yard maintenance. Understanding the history, laws and proper techniques of cemetery
preservation all play a role in caring for cemeteries. During the classroom day, find out
about funding for cemetery care, the symbolism and traditions of Indiana's cemeteries,
laws regulating cemeteries and the Indiana Cemetery Registry. During the work day, learn
how to identify the different types of stone used to make gravestones and the proper
techniques.

June 4, 2010, Cemetery Restoration Workshop at Crown Hill Cemetery
Indianapolis, Indiana. 9 am to 4 pm. click for registration. (pdf) $30.00.
Hello all and let me first apologize for the slightly off topic post. It is about
cemetery restoration but in Ohio. As you are well aware Ohio is decades behind Indiana
when it comes to care for cemetaries.
My question to you is. I am attempting to generated interest and funding for undertaking
the restoration of some of the Cemeteries in my home county. Does any one have any
suggestions as to how to achieve this.
I already know who I would like to do the work and have already had discussions with them
about putting on a class in my county. But I would also like to use them if I generate
the funds required.
thank you
Bob Little
