Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Well, hopefully those who know me will attest that I'm not mean...but I
also don't see the relevance to what this list is intended to do. You wanna
talk weeds, tombstones, access rights, etc...I'm with you 100%. The
examination and forensics of skeltons? Sorry.......and it's not my mission
statement that I was referring to. It was the one you apparently believed in
when you subscribed to this list.

I'm on about fifty mailing lists.
Hands-down, this one has the meanest posters of all of them.

Hi, everyone,
As some of you know, I am on the board of AGS. On Oct. 10th, I will attend a board meeting in Greenfield, MA. The new president has organized committes for the board members and one of those of which I am serving is the Chapters Committee. AGS is seriously looking into forming Regional Chapters across the country.
I would appreciate your thoughts, ideas, concerns, for me to take to the committee meeting. Would you be interested in a regional chapter; if so, what would you like the chapter to do; things along that line. As many of you know, AGS will be having its first Midwest conference next June in Ohio. Check out the information on the conference at http://www.gravestonestudies.org/conferences.htm.
Please send me an email by October 7th so I have a couple days to put things together for the meeting.
Thank you in advance.

Cathi - I would be interested in a regional option - from my office I cannot access your website reference -
I am not involved in restoration - one of the things I am doing is photographing - I guess a suggestion from me would be to have a photographic log of the stones and the conditions of the cemeteries - in my area as well as in others I am sure - there is a lack of concern for these pieces of history. i am in northern Indiana. I also know of a man in Texas that has bought land surrounding one of his ranches and on it is an abandoned town - there is a cemetery there that it was indicated to me it might contain military markers from the time of our expansion west. So I guess on this committee I would recommend you have at least 1 or 2 if not more photographers to document problems as well as progress. Thanks - please keep me informed - my personal email address is joerowles(a)yahoo.com - please feel free.
