Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I wanted to thank the list for the recommendation that I received in getting a stone restored. This past weekend in a pioneer cemetery in rural Indiana, I met Walt and his wife Micki with the intention of restoring the stone of my 7x great-grandmother. The stone looks beautiful and I had the added pleasure of spending time with two of the most genuinely nice people that I have ever met. In addition, as if all of this wasn't enough, watching Walt and Micki at work is an education in itself...it's like watching a detective trying to crack a difficult case. Thank you...thank you to all of you who recommended these two wonderful people. This has given me the incentive to get everything in gear to go back and restore the rest of that cemetery!
THanks again,
Madonna Davis Marks
My previous posting was meant for Sharon, but obviously didn't get sent
to her personal address. Since it made it here, I figured I would
clarify it.
I have been looking forward to this and got a bit carried

Hi Aaron,
Your dad has been a true inspiration to all his cemetery preservation "acquaintances" and friends.
It's amazing, isn't it? Good man, good people, good prayers, and good kid to boot! Says volumes about your dad.
Best wishes to both he and the family!

I would like to thank everyone for the prayers and good wishes. Dad is
doing great and is more than ready to come home. He is now out of the ICU
and is doing great. Hopefully he will be home in about a week or so. The
part that will be the worse for dad is not being able to drive for six
weeks, but he is looking forward to just being home.
Once again I want to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers! If
anyone has any questions regarding dad, they can contact me at ab(a)abweb.us.
Thank you again.

We have several also in Tipton County which should have been on that link.
One we are about half done restoring it. It is slow going because all the
tablet stones are down, most broken.

Teresa,
Thank you!! I have submitted some pictures and info (to Scott) on a
gravesite that draws me to tears each time I drive by it (Attica IN). I
have been monitoring the email links to see if anyone has any interest
in pursuing this project. Perhaps if it's on the updated site it might
attract some attention.

Is there anyone out there who could update the website? I am rather
embarrassed to refer people to the website when it is so out of date.
The new workshops, recent news articles, updated hall of shame, &
upcoming Legislature reports should be on there. I would gladly do it if
I had any idea what to do, but I don't. Could we hire someone to do it?
I'd be willing to make a donation to that end.

My cemetery work came to a standstill this summer, I suffered a heart
attack at work (fire department) on March 30th and underwent quadruple
bypass heart surgery on April 5th. I am recovering nicely but am very
limited on what I can do. At the present time I can lift no more that 5
pounds, but by July I will be up to full speed and hopefully back to work.
