allow me to have Tammie place this on the Logan County Okla site it might be
helpful as the TurtleTown site is not longer active.

All I am saying Debbie is that my observations have been different from
yours. While we don't have any American Indian heritage in our direct lines
(and I contend that most don't), we have great-grandparents who lived among
them in Arkansas and Oklahoma and plenty of aunts, uncles and cousins who
did intermarry. There are many records available.

I didn't mean to mislead anyone on the rules. They are not steadfast rules,
but general. These rules however are NOT for Indiana, they are on a federal
basis. My Native American research has mainly been in North Carolina,
Tennessee, Oklahoma and Kentucky. None of it has been in Indiana and most of
the information I provided was based on data received from Cherokee websites
put out by tribal members and by the NARA.
