I stopped at the Library there on my way down to Owen county a few weeks ago and the
Librarian told me about this as well....I did look through some records there and picked
up some info on their website....a very nice library and a lot of great things they are
doing to offer more and more info online, which is great for all of us.....nice work
Debbie.

Not certain if many of you are aware, but recently the Putnam county library
went online with many of their obituaries.
It is searchable, but you must have a surname.
I have been going through them randomly and pulling out data for the website as
it pertains to --
church membership
mens fraternal orders
womens fraternal orders
military.
There are persons from Putnam, Owen, Morgan, Clay and Vigo counties in their
listings. Some are from other counties.
I am concentrating on the ones from our counties.
I will be placing these on the website.
I have a book on the Christian churches and Churches of Christ for Owen County
but not the others ---- so I am using this method to glean data.
I am randomly searching these surnames and will find more.. if you wish to
suggest some surnames please feel free.
The Putnam county library site is found...

Click on "Local History and Genealogy" link at the top.
Then on the next page, click on "Obituaries" link on the left side.
