Trying to find if Rhoda Cain Williams was admitted to Logansport State
Hospital in or about 1888 and if she died while there. bass103(a)juno.com

Subject: [INOWEN] Data for your Winter Research
Listmembers--
It's that time of year again when many of us will be shut inside a house
due to
bad winter weather.
This doesn't stop our research, it just puts it into a new
dimension.
This is the time of year to talke all the information we found over the
summer
months and see how it fits and find new surnames to search.
It is also the time to organize your file cabinets and data storage
areas.
As there have been so many new members to the list since the last time we
did
this-
It is probably a good idea to let everyone know just what names you
are
researching and just what information you need to find.
Make your postings good ones in order to get good results. Make as
many
postings as you wish to and try to limit your emails to contain just one
family and then use another email for another family to eliminate confusion.
REVIEW OF WHAT MAKES A GOOD POSTING
Put in your subject line "the subject'. Don't put "my surnames" or
Looking
for or anything like this as many researchers will simply delete those.
Make your subject line contain the name of the ancestor or the
surname.
Also include the time frame and area. If possible include any migrations.
Anything that will help identify your ancestor the best for the best
results.
Similar to this--
John McCULLOUGH- 1759-1841-PA>NC>TN>KY>IN
This tells the reader WHO you are looking for; WHEN they were alive: and
WHERE they
lived during that life
If you are looking for the children of this man then placing
"children of"
in front of his name.
Try to include in your email as much data as possible. Such as areas
of
the county he resided in or his wife's name or children's name.
The more data you provide, the better chance someone has of
identifying
YOUR ancestor and not another with a similar name.
PLEASE-PLEASE-PLEASE
Address your posting to-- INOWEN-L(a)rootsweb.com NOT TO ME, I repeat NOT
TO ME
ANSWER AS MANY AS YOU CAN HELP WITH
Answer as many emails as you can answer, but please do not answer them
simply to
state "I don't have any information" or "I know nothing".
Answer them only if you have information.
If you have collected obituaries from the library or photos of gravestones
and
possibly have some attached that don't connect to you-- then offer them
on the website for someone else who might need them.
To do this PLEASE DON'T SEND AN ATTACHMENT TO THE LIST, it will
get tossed
out by the filters.
Either type it in the body of the email or simply send an email
announcing
the name of the obituary that you have if someone wants to contact you.
