I think they might be buried in Adel cemetery which is located across the
road from Adel Church of Christ.. and fairly close to the farm of Charlie
Wood. I think Doris Wood widow of Nathaniel Wood was either a Noel or
Carpenter and her parents are buried there. Doris will be 90 the end of
June and lives in town of Spencer now.

Subject: [INOWEN] Pleasant Valley Cemetery ???
Does anyone know where this old Cemetery is located? Does it still
exsist? Or is it called by another name now? Does anyone have a listing
of people that were buried there? Looking for Mary Noel Carpenter & Hiriam
W. Carpenter.
This article sent to me says that Pleasant Valley was what we now call
Adel:
Pleasant Valley is also Adel or even "Dog Walk" on the boarder of
Franklin and Clay townships but in Clay County. Story appeared in
Evening World newspaper, June 4, l974...called 'Scenic Clay Township"
by Dixie Kline. Pleasant Valley platted in l859 by Levi Carpenter,
one of those places I call "vernacular neighborhoods"...whatever was
there and to be known as Pleasant Valley burned...but of course we
still know Adel but Dog Walk has gone the way of Red Haven and
other crossroad communities that have dropped out of common knowledge.
thanks,
