Tim,
thanks so much for your information that you posted. I am sending you information on the
William T. Baldwin you have listed. He is the son of my Ancestor John Baldwin's
brother William Baldon/Baldwin.
His full name was William Taylor Baldwin and he is buried at the old family Homestead at
the Baldwin Cemetery in Ashland Twp, Morgan Co.IN. The headstone for him states b. Feb.
19, 1841 - Jan. 27, 1861
I had originally found for his brother Warren Baldwin this:
Warren Baldwin
Residence Eminence IN;
Enlisted on 1/9/1862 as a Private.
On 1/9/1862 he mustered into "B" Co. IN 59th Infantry
(date and method of discharge not given)
(Died before muster)

He is also buried at the old family cemetery, but he has a Civil War Veterans headstone
only with his name and Co.B 59th Ind Inf on it.
Louis Baldwin of Cloverdale, IN attended the ceremonies you had there, he is a direct line
descendant of this line of William and Julia Baldwin [the parents]......his ancestor was a
sister to these two men I have mentioned. He sent me a program from the service and I
just rec'd it in today's mail.
thanks again for recoginizing these men of so long ago.

Greetings to all,
I have been requested to supply the list of names that appears on the plaque
that was dedicated by the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and our camp
(Ben Harrison Camp) on May 26th. I met many nice people during our ceremony at
the Gosport Cemetery. It was well attended. I estimated the number of
attendees at about 60. I have copied the list that we researched, with
additional information that does not appear on the plaque. If anyone on this
list has any additional information about these men, specifically about where
these men died and where they were buried, please let me know and I will update
this list. As many of you probably already know, researching old 146 year old
records is sometimes tough. I have a nice 2 page formatted list in a PDF
document. If anyone on this list would like an electronic copy, please let me
know and I would be more than happy to send it out via e-mail. I have copied
this document below, minus the formatting. I will be adding thi!
s and some pictures of the ceremony to our Camp web site at some future point.
Here is the list:
