“Ghost in the woods! - Nature's Myth or Reality by Marquita Manley, Interpretive
Naturalist”
Lions, tigers and bears! Oh my! Actually, it is more likely bats, owls, and spiders! Oh
my! Marquita Manley is the Interpretive Naturalist at McCormick's Creek State Park
and she has the answer about whether or not there are ghosts in the woods? Are stories
we've heard about bats, owls, and spiders really true? Come learn the reality on some
of nature's spookiest myths!
It is that time of year and what more appropriate than to learn more about the world
around us from someone who can give us the answers. If you have heard spooky stories and
want to know if they are true, then this is your chance.
Marquita is also interested in your help to find treasures that may be hidden away in your
family photo albums. McCormick's Creek State Park is renovating exhibits this year
and preparing for its 100th anniversary, 1916- 2016. They would love to have copies of
your photos, stories, film clips, or park related items to help tell the story of
McCormick's Creek State Park. Older photos are especially needed. Contact the Nature
Center, 829-4344, for more information.
Everyone is invited to come to the Owen County Public Library's meeting room on the
upper level to listen and learn about bats, owls and spiders! as presented by
Interpretive Naturalist, Marquita Manley. Come join us on Tuesday, October 21st, at 7:00
pm, 2nd Floor, 10 S. Montgomery Street, Spencer, Indiana. Library is handicap accessible
with elevator to 2nd floor. Please note... This is a change from the formerly announced
program.
